The project attempts to design tourism and cultural infrastructure for the heritage city of Badami under Heritage City Development Scheme. Taking inspiration from the sand stone landforms and local methods of construction, the architecture of Badami cultural Centre is imagined as sand stone walls extending towards the landscape. All programs are housed as memories in the niches of these walls. These walls make intimate relationship with landscape by capturing glimpses of landform, water, ruins and sky. The walls as an interface negotiate in-between Badami town and the landscape of this heritage site.
